Smoking VS Vaping

Is Vaping better than Cigarettes?

I will start with the answer and go from there.

Answer = Vaping is healthier than cigarettes.

Smoking VS Vaping

Vaping is by all accounts safer than smoking, simply because smoking has been known to be the worst possible thing you can do to your body.  But that is not to say that vaping is safe.  Remember this is a new product and no matter how many guys on forums you heard from that say its guaranteed to be safe, they are misinformed.  They are most likely trying to sell you something or justify their own vaping habits.

Remember Cigarettes used to even be prescribed by doctors for certain ailments.  The point is that it takes time to really gauge the effects of anything new on a large population before we get any real data.  Remember how long it took to prove that smoking was harmful to your health?  Expect at least a decade or so before we start to get some real hard results for the health effects of vaping.

Now back to the question Smoking VS Vaping.  We know for a fact that smoking will kill you if you smoke long enough and enough cigarettes.  If it does not kill you cigarettes will impair your quality of life at the very least.  Vaping may or may not do just as much harm as cigarettes but the chances are that at the very worst, it could only possibly be equal to smoking cigarettes.

At this point in time we do not know enough about Vaping to determine just how good or bad it is but we do know some things.  The main one being its versatility.  Firstly from what we know at the moment, there is no smoke.  This means that it does not bother people as much as cigarettes and the chances are that when the correct data comes out in the future, vaping will not be as bad as cigarettes.

Now the other main point is that just like nicotine patches, gum, inhalers, candies etc Vaping has proven to be successful in helping people quit smoking.  I know a handful of people personally who have quit smoking altogether by Vaping instead.  I am a huge proponent for this especially since Vaping slowly weans you off cigarettes and offers a gradual reduction of nicotine similar to nicotine patches.

You can start vaping at 21mg nicotine and after a week or so go down to 16mg and then 12mg and so on until you are eventually vaping without nicotine.  This can be a godsend for some people and there are countless stories of people who have essentially saved their own lives by vaping all the way to smoking cessation!  It is always great to hear these stories and the success rate is fairly good from what I can see of forums but I have not seen any real hard numbers for quit rates after 6 months and 1 year.

The Best Way to Quit Smoking by Vaping

Now when people stop smoking by means of vapor replacement therapy there are some who 2 months after do not smoke or vape and they are the best example. But then you have another percentage of this group who quit smoking but continue vaping with or without nicotine for the rest of their lives.  Just because they were told that vaping is healthy they will continue with this habit for the rest of their lives and if they are vaping nicotine, well I am sorry to say but you have not really kicked the habit but rather traded one addiction for another.

The goal of Vaping is to slowly wean yourself off the vapor until you do not need any fix whatsoever.  A vaporizer with 0% nicotine should be kept around for the first year of smoking cessation but after about 2-3 months of quitting smoking you should use it only once or twice a month at most.  The vaporizer should be essentially “kept behind glass” for those times that you maybe drank too much or just went through a breakup and have a 90% or more chance that you are going to return to cigarettes if you do not get that vapor.  This vapor should be 0% nicotine as I said earlier and should only be used once or twice a month, if even that much during the first year of smoking cessation!

After that initial year you want to get rid of your vaporizer and live a smoke free life without any crutches whatsoever.  Yes you will eat more, yes you will gain some weight but come on! You will be alive and healthy.  My advice, eat that burger! Devour that pizza! It’s still healthier than smoking and after time you will develop healthy habits like running, hiking, exercise, healthy eating etc.

All in all here Vaping is better than smoking but try not to replace one devil for another.  The goal is to get that monkey off your back and to be your own man/woman again.  Stop smoking, start vaping and slowly go back to the time when you didn’t smoke anything!  That is what will make vaping worth it and that is what will make you a better person!
